I should have just punched the bitch.

Filed under: Rant's of rage — Hudson @ 1:36 pm

No, I mean it. I should have got out of my truck, walked over to her stupid snooty ass, politely knocked on her window, and if she was dumb enough to open it, fucking slammer her in that chink face of hers.

Yes, I said chink, as in gook, slant, you heard me, it was a racial slur. don’t like it? go someplace where your poor eyes won’t be offended, because believe you me, this bitch DESERVES IT.

Alright, so maybe this is a little too abrupt, let me rewind a little and tell you a story about a day that was actually going absolutely fucking *awesome* up until this moment to where i started having thoughts of assault and battery against a minority retard.

Lets go back a little over a year ago, just for a quick recap. (more…)

Back and building!

Filed under: Projects — Hudson @ 3:53 pm

I’m not dead, really. I just have long periods of holding my breath while I lay in a fancy box in a nice hole.

While I was down there, I built something. I have decided to video log/blog etc for my projects instead of writing them up, at least for some of them.

Todays project post is something I made for one of my many (many,many,many..) obsessions - Airsoft! This is a BB Quick loader, it was a fun little throw together hack made out of - believe it or not, an Tylenol bottle.

Enjoy!

Airsoft DIY Quickloader Intro

Airsoft DIY Quickloader Howto

Pardon them being a little rushed, I’ll be doing better ones in the future. :) I’m also looking for ideas, got any?

Java java java, I made you out of clay..

Filed under: Geek Things — Hudson @ 12:46 pm

Cumulation of more reading around, J9/Webspehere more or less is competing product for suns Java ME. Same game, different people. Fun stuff. I even found other java VM’s floating around that also run on Samsungs blackjack, maybe not WELL, but they run.

So I threw IBM’s J9 onto the phone and played around with it, I didn’t make it myself, it was some pre-made file floating around from the old ‘googlemaps java doesn’t work on cingular’s broke ass java’ issue. It works, and it works pretty well too. The permission browser is fully fledged and lets you control what program can do how and when, like it should.

The only gripe is the midlet installer, its configured wrong, you hit a jad or jar file, and it asks for a URL, even when the file is local on the device. J9 wasn’t really adjusted fully for the blackjack/WM5 apparently. You can install things on it, but you need to basically type in raw file paths instead of it figuring them out for you. annoyance, but not bad for a prof of concept seeing as how /everything else/ seems to work out of the box. I uninstaller it after a while, and the original java system took right back over again, no questions asked.
So now a crash course in java on mobile devices.

  1. Java VM’s on windows mobile are not really java, its an emulator VM.
  2. Aside from some adjustments, all of them are more or less the same.
  3. Talking to the hardware of the device is all standardized, Btooth and USB and such are all basically standards-compliant additions to the VM emulator added at compile time so the VM can talk to the phone and vice versa. This is a good thing, if you want your VM to have bluetooth support, you add the java bluetooth to your build environment and thats pretty much it.
  4. All the source and tools to build these things are freely available online. All of them, including documentation from AT&T, Samsung, Sun, etc.
  5. It’s completely legal to do this, the java VM isn’t standard on windows mobile, its an addition, it’s really just its own WM5 standalone application.
  6. All this is worked out by what can basically be called a standards compliance board consisting of all the big names, samsung, nokia, IBM, AT&T, etc etc, as each piece from sun is worked on, they stamp it with tested approval before it becomes part of the universal system, once its been shown to comply, work and do what it needs.

So this really begs the question, why the hell hasn’t anybody done a custom built java VM for all these devices to have a fully fledged VM emulator so people can enjoy a little freedom? it’s entirely possible to do, its legal, and hell, it’s low risk, the chances of you bricking your unit is slim to zero.

You can probably guess what I’m plotting at this point.. :)
To make things even more interesting, there is also an open source version of the J2ME system that is just now starting up. I understand that cellphone providers should try to provide a secure platform for their users. But there is such a thing as too-secure, so secure a feature of a device becomes more or less un-usable. I’m not going to write up a personal application for myself, and pay hundreds of dollars or hoops to get it certed by cingular just so it runs on a phone i damn well own already.

So, I’m off on the direction of replacing the J2ME emulator, build my own, install it on my blackjack, and get back the ability to select my own security instead of somebody else deciding for me. :P

“This is going to get interesting.”

The main links of interest are The AT&T developer site, which requires a free subscription top get to the real meat and taters of it, but has some very interesting things on it, and the navigation-challenged sun java site, specifically, the one pertaining to the J2ME side of things. There is also of course the Sun java open source line of things, but i’m not sure how fledged and stable it may be compared to the main branch. And of course the samsung developer pages located here. Nevermind that last one, its a useless pile of crap.

How many cards in Blackjack?

Filed under: Geek Things — Hudson @ 11:41 pm

So following up my earlier post, here are some links to various websites I browsed along on my journey to learn more about the whole fuckery mess of the java VM screwup on cingulars blackjack. This is basically a rambling train of thought with links pointing to relevant points of information and informative finds as i figure out my plan of attack and options to overhaul my phone.

Cingular, AT&T,Samsung, and a box named Blackjack.

This is a love hate sort of relationship. I love my brand spanking new tricked out Samnsung Blackjack! I love unlimited data plans that arn’t *too* pricey, maybe not cheap, but it could be a lot worse. I love the look, the feel, hell, shames me to say, I even love the OS. And its windows for gods sake.

Now hang on there cowboy, put down the penguin cannon before you loose a limb or loved one. I have two Linux PDA’s i flashed myself and i love them too, but for different reasons. The windows mobile 5 OS on this thing is respectable, fast, and fairly easy to dick around with and toy with its guts. Unlike, say, VERIZON phones with their asstactular customized roms programmed and designed out of raw purified elephant dung, which by the way are so crippled its not even funny. 200 dollar phone for 50 dollar phone features. But its in a REAL pretty case and it LOOKS like a real pretty phone.

The blackjack? It’s just real pretty. Sleek, handy, well featured, and thank god cingular is one of the providers that typically dicks with their phones *the least* of most other providers when it comes to ‘adjusting’ features or nerfing programs on their devices.

And this is where the rub comes in..

I love the internet.

Filed under: Rant's of rage — Hudson @ 6:25 pm

Really, I do.

I’ll make this a screen shot too, so Jen can’t just whip around and go editing posts, putting things on private, etc. You know, just in case she has a change in judgment, I’m going to get this linked on the page she is talking about, so..I’m basically going to be using her link traffic, back against her, and counter-press her bullshit for once.

The best part is, we are putting up adwords on the page, and its for charity. Because drama might as well be good for SOMETHING.

Or not, wow. Do you have any idea how little adwords and such pay these days? Its pathetic! But thats another rant all together - back to the flame at hand, or ass, whichever.

Comments ARE open, to anybody who would like to say anything. I’ll refrain from biased filtering like some people on live journal.. :)

To set the record straight, this is pertains to Jen, Jennifer “Mental bitch not on her pills” Anderson, AKA: Crzydemona, Crzy,CrzyJen, Crazydemona, etc. I’m just tired of her shit, and I’m responding to it.
Specifically:

… aren’t you glad we didn’t just turn over the fandom to Chris “Dig my Mullet” Rogers when he demanded it?
One day, I expect to wake up and all of gargoyle-fans.org will have caved in on itself. They still have their craptastic Las Vegas information up with a link directly to 2007’s page.
At least they were bright enough to pull that off. Their big “GATHERING ARCHIVE” site is dead and gone.
Not that it was really worth a crap with their hard to maneuver layout and stolen graphics.Let’s hope that one is dead and buried now.

EX A: The dirt

I’ll save you the drama-lama back story that goes on for miles and miles for another day, and just go to my response. (All the backstory, boiled down, is really the same shit, over and over, regurgitated into infinity.)

But hey..If that bitch wants to fling trash, I’ll need to dust off the book I wrote and show her how its done, silly cow.

Vonage is starting to suck.

Filed under: Rant's of rage — Hudson @ 11:02 pm

I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later, when I started to see the stylish little Vonage commercials on TV, the cute idiotic people passing up sports cars and hot supermodel girls, yet suddenly having the wit to even know what Vonage is and how great it is. (Obviously they have thus far displayed great power in making wise choices)

This always struck me as stupid, but perhaps laughably true if you look at it from an odd slant. Vonage has started to turn to shit and I can testify on it - I’ll just compare my experience with them now against my experiences with them in the past before they started dipping down into the toilet.

Before any naysayers, knowitols or intards start coming out saying I’m just some clueless curd on the intarnets with a keyboard full of foul misdirected hate, let me fill you in on a few facts before you read any further.

  • One: I have been a Vonage customer since early 2002, (thats 6 years for those of you who can’t count)
  • Two: I have done extensive research, application and development in the VOIP area all that time.
  • Three: I have overseen the development of our own Vonage-like VOIP system, which has been in service for years and I am intimately familiar with the hardware, software, audio codec’s and technical terms being discussed. but I’ll keep things as ‘plain english’ as possible.
  • Four: I’m probably smarter than you. :P No, this isn’t a challenge for you to prove it. I don’t care. No, seriously, I DON’T CARE.

Read on for the full story.

Hey look,Guns and Titties!

Filed under: Random news — Hudson @ 3:11 am

No, I’m not dead, just busy. Real life does that to people. You should try it, it’s fun. Got some spare time, wanted to update my work logs, but then the pain and annoyance of doing the images by hand made me finally update my wordpress a bit.

Say hello to the new and improved ImageManager with upgraded Lightbox 2.2 built right in! I tried using the stock IM and LB plugins off the website, but it was like the author just threw them together. Skipping the code mumbo jumbo, I modified the IM plugin, made my own lightbox plugin, and added a few features to either so they took full advantage of each other. This thing even makes thumbnails on the fly and has a built in basic image editor for cropping and sizing.
Check it out, click on a picture, you can use the N or P keys to go back or forth, or just hover your mouse around the left or right side of the image to see the buttons.

And the great news? For those of you paranoid tards with IE, it even works in IE, and if you are lacking javascript, defaults back to normal link mode.

So buy it, or i'll kill you in the dark.DSC00059.jpgflektone2_1.jpgnikkichaindrs007.jpgyappo24_1.jpg

Yes I know the css files have some issues still, I haven’t had time to pick through all the code and tweak the href and underline crap yet.

Things that make you go ‘is he still at it??’

Filed under: Random news — Hudson @ 12:56 am

Just a small update, i have been working on the bike, but not postiong updates yet. it’s just been really minor stuff, like clutch cable, battery pads, but then i got the stuff to do the new fuel lines and filter system, which not only looks cool, its increased the demand and supply responsiveness of my fuel system enough to make the bike much more responsive on the throttle. I also figured out the ‘vapor lock’ claims i keep hearing, and i have been snickering ever since i figured out WTF these people have all been (wrongly) talking about. (and the fact nobody seems to know how to get around it..durdurdur..)

I’m still working to encode the video of the last segment instalation first however, but its a bit of a monster. Other video’s will be more..sectional, and easier to swallow.

But doesn’t all the teasing little tidbits above just make you insanely curious? ;]

Also, got a bike jack today, not bad for 60 bucks at sears. on sale too (special thanks to my father who spotted that and gave me a call. thanks dad! now about that CNC machine..).

If you are into bikes and want a new lift, check out sears, its not a bad little peice of hardware for the cost. And on that subject, somebody should probably confine me to quaters or something as i am currently looking at CAD files for a home-brew powersport dyno platform and already have the software to use its output too.

Those things are fucking handy for so many different things it’s not even funny, now that the engine is starting to really behave itself, it’s almost silly to test drive around here, i can’t gather data, and high speeds in this area isn’t exactly smiled upon, and i like to test my machines before i TEST my machines. something about serious engine problems at 50 miles an hour on a busy road that just doesn’t settle with me very well.

Maybe i’m just paranoid, but paranoia keeps millions of people alive every year..

Updated bike log entry. No images or video yet, but the text is there for you folks out there who seem to like reading this crap.

Putting the dragon bike on the atkins diet. (Carbs part 1 and such)

Don’t let the title fool you, there is more than just carb speak in there. Now I get to boot back into XP *gag* and work on the video shit again.
